The 1897 Edition of the Eastman's Bible Dictionary defines Shilo as the following.
Shiloh
generally understood as denoting the Messiah, "the peaceful
one," as the word signifies (Gen. 49:10). The Vulgate Version
translates the word, "he who is to be sent," in allusion to the
Messiah; the Revised Version, margin, "till he come to Shiloh;"
and the LXX., "until that which is his shall come to Shiloh." It
is most simple and natural to render the expression, as in the
Authorized Version, "till Shiloh come," interpreting it as a
proper name (comp. Isa. 9:6).
Shilo was also a city called a place of rest on the North side of Bethal in the lands of Ephraim. This makes me recall the the verse:
Come all that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.
Shilo is our Messiah and giver of rest when all our foes are destroyed and His kingdom established. Shilo will be our rest. Note then that this differs from our Messiah's first advent, where He came in humilty and died for our sake; fulfilling The Law in order to marry His people.
Ye chosen seed of Israel's race, ye ransomed from the fall, hail him who saves you by his grace, and crown him Lord of all. Hail him who saves you by his grace, and crown him Lord of all.
