Green Bell Peppers

Postby KanadianBrett » Wed Nov 16, 2016 6:03 pm

Nutritionally, this pepper barely answers the bell. All bells are the same thing—the fruit of the pepper plant Capsicum annuum. The green ones just aren't ripe yet. Ripe, red bell peppers have nearly twice the vitamin C of green peppers (three times more than in an orange) and nine times the amount of vitamin A, because they've been soaking up the sun longer. They're also sweeter—and more expensive.
