To say that it is simply a tool while denying the reality of how it is used seems slightly dissonant. It almost seems like one trying to justify the use of the internet?
Ultimately I just want to separate the two points of dissonance:
1. The internet as it is now is more bad than good.
2. We can use the internet to reach our kindred.
We can hold these views simultaneously and with that in mind there is actually no debate, in my opinion.
I ridiculed nobody personally, but only certain ideas, and you still miss the point, seeming to not even have acknowledged it.
The point you miss is the vanity of any attack on inanimate things, because certain people always abuse those things. THAT is the true dissonance here, and the problem which several of us have with Nico's original quarrel. It attacks the form, and not the substance. Attacks on the form are always vain, because the substance merely adapts a new form.
You have both, therefore, surrendered yourselves to the same tactic which the enemy has long used to disarm us.
Look again at your own argument, where you stated that "To say that it is simply a tool while denying the reality of how it is used seems slightly dissonant. It almost seems like one trying to justify the use of the internet?"
Now look at this, where I take your argument and substitute the noun
gun for
internet:
"To say that it is simply a tool while denying the reality of how it is used seems slightly dissonant. It almost seems like one trying to justify the use of the gun?"
Do you get it now? If someone said that to you while arguing that guns be eliminated, would it not identify them as a commie tool? In America it would. Internets don't make porn, people do.
