The four and twenty elders who received their crowns from Christ in turn cast their crowns before the throne. They don't strut around like asshats showing off their crowns. This seems to symbolize to me an acknowledgment on the part of the elders that they don't really deserve the crowns. God created all things for His pleasure. So what, while Yahweh's deriving pleasure from His children who were former whoremongers some of us should be saying "uh....hey God, remember what he did?" I think the bible is clear where those who would do such things will be;

I don't said that we would be cocky. But I believe in hierarchy and that godly things are all about hierarchy. Starting from God, then all the types of angels and lastly the lesser creatures. I don't believe in equality, even in Heaven. I'm not saying that you or me would be important, and I don't think we deserve to be in any position.

However it's clear that Hitler was better than Gramsci and Mary better than a whore, for example. Even within our race some people are simply better than other...

We could be in the worst possible rankings, it doesnt matter as long as we can be in the Kingdom, but a hierarchy needs to exist. And it doesnt means that the people in higher positions would be cocky talking about their rewards and works, cause if they were like this they would not be in a high position.

But I do believe that people will be rewarded and a hierarchical society is a logical thing, it's just necessary to have order and discipline in any society. So I believe that people will be saved by grace (israelite heirs of the promisse) and rewarded based on works.

Thats right, we should not be asshats as you said, we must be humble. But false humility is not good too. For example, I know that I can speak better than everybody in my class, theres nothing wrong recognizing it as long as I don't get cocky, but if I try to compare myself to the guy working in the radio I'm an idiot. Its natural to some people have more potential than others, a lot of people are better than you but a lot of them are worst than you as well, thats just reality.

Also we can't forget that pride is not always bad. I'm very proud of being part of such a peculiar creation of God, and very proud of the things we can do. Thats a good pride as long we don't forget the reason that make us so peculiar, which is God.

Even if it's said with sarcasm it's propagating that ugly untruth every time it's put out there. Typing that just now reminded me of the admonition for us to avoid ever declaring (or thinking it for that matter), "At least I am not a sinner like that person," when referring to the "look at me, I'm praying" Pharisee's "prayer" on the street, hoping to be seen as good by whoever passes by. The busy and analytical mind God gave us inevitably encounters these situations where we become aware we may be veering towards self-aggrandizement and we have to take a look at ourselves and endeavor to be honest in our appraisal.
