I looked on the index page for a place to post calendar discussions, but found none. It might be a good thing to have an index called YHWH's Calendar. Just a request and/or a thought.

I consider the subject of the calendar of YHWH to be the most important and yet the most divisive of all subjects, save that of race. With the subject of calendar, you are almost assured of a fight, but with race, you are guaranteed to either be stoned or at least disfellowshiped from your local congregation.

YHWH's law is all about race and time. The calendar is very important, IMO. Even though it is divisive, it can be discussed by mature men and women who are willing to learn and change their theology accordingly.

I would like to know who here keeps YHWH's Appointed Times? I'm new to this forum, so I'm not sure what has been discussed. I know I've heard Eli and Bill speak of keeping the Sabbath and Feast Days, but does everyone here agree that YHWH's Appointments are to be kept?

Anyway, I just wanted to address the fact that there should be a calendar section of the index page and whoever is the moderator might want to consider adding it.

The New Moon is found being observed (guarded, kept, held as important) in the Old Testament (Numbers 10:10, 2Kings 4:23, Amos 8:5 and Ezk. 46:1-3), and in the New Testament (Col. 2:16) and in the Kingdom yet to come (Isa. 66:23, Ezk, 46:1-3).

Most of the mainstream churches do not even acknowledge the calendar of YHWH at all, but those who do, fail to see the importance of New Moon in their theology. YHWH's law is all about race and time. Race and time is the mark of YHWH, or His sign to His people. The mark of the Beast is also about race and time, or the lack there of.

I would like to give the following facts about New Moon as food for thought and discussion.

1) New Moon is a period, not a just a 24 hour day. In the phrase New Moon Day, we find the Hebrew word Yowm. The word Yowm can mean the heat of the day (12 hours of daylight) or it can mean 24 hours as a calendar day, or it can mean a period of time, as in a few days or even a year or 1000 years.

The New Moon begins when the light of the sun leaves the moon visibly. This occurs when the sun, moon and earth are in a conjunction with one another or in alignment. This happens once every 29.536 days, which is the length of YHWH's month on average.

this means that some months have either 29 or 30 days. This also means that there can be two New Moon days (the 30th and the 1st) in a New Moon period as in the story of David, Jonathon and Saul in 1Sam. 20.

2) New Moon is not a Sabbath, nor is it one of the six working days in which YHWH promises us time to get all of our work completed. Instead, New Moon is a third kind of day, a day of planning, worshiping, rejoicing, catching up on yard work, temple building, feasting, etc.....all found in scripture. The best way I can describe New Moon is a free day, best used as a mini Feast Day each month.

3) There are only two prohibitions listed in scripture for New Moon. 1) No working for your occupation (Ezk. 46:1) and 2) No buying and selling (Amos. 8:5). And if you think about it, working for your occupation is a form of buying and selling. You are selling your time and your employer is buying your time.

4) New Moon is the basis of all YHWH's calendar. It has to be the main player for the worship appointed times (moedim) of Lev. 23 to make any sense at all. For that matter, any scripture that has to do with dates of any given month, like when Haggai writes that on the 24th day of the ninth month, the two witnesses are seal and begin their ministry, one has to look to the calendar to know that day has arrived.

5) The New Moon looks back to creation. Genesis 1:1 is a type of New Moon. This point is tough to see, but once you come to see the importance of New Moon and all that it entails. YHWH created the world and all that is in them, as a type of New Moon, out of darkness, then light broke, beginning the first day in Gen. 1:4-5.

6) The Moon is YHWH's time piece in the sky. The phases of the moon, like a clock in the heavens, mark the days of the month accordingly. The first visible crescent marks day one, the first quarter moon (a perfect half moon) marks the 8th of the month, the full moon marks the 15th of the month, the last quarter moon (a perfect half moon in reverse of the first one) marks the 22nd and finally the last visible crescent marks the 29th, when the moon goes into darkness or conjunction with the earth and sun. Thus, I can look at the moon on any given night and tell what day of YHWH month it is.

7) The moon is visible in the daylight portion of the 24 hour day for the first 14 days of the month, beginning at sunset (dusk) on day one and becoming visible longer each day until the middle of the month, when it is only visible at night time. I do not think this is by mistake. YHWH allows us the time while we are awake to see his time piece for the first half of the month and from then it is just a matter of counting out the rest of the month, day by day.

These are just a few facts that I have learned about the moon and it's importance, which all comes from keeping the New Moon of scripture.

I would like to hear everyone else's thoughts on the moon and/or YHWH's calendar. The importance of keeping it today as His sign between Him and us (Ex. 31:13-16, Deut. 6:7-9 and Ex. 13:9), sealing us as His people, along with our race. Do you keep New Moon, YHWH calendar, His Sabbaths? If not, I would like to hear anyone's reason why not.

I believe just as Bill and Eli and others are filled with YHWH Spirit to restore the details of the importance of race, that YHWH wills for us to come to understand the details of His calendar as well, the other half of the equation.

Is it at all possible to understand this issue today? Is it at all possible to prove exactly what the proper calendar is today? All sides of this question say it is but for all of their digging and endless calculations everything seems to remain too murky to come to a truly conclusive answer. If keeping feasts were critical today would not Yahweh have left us a clear and indisputable calendar by which to keep them?

You ask a great question here when you write:

I have an answer to your question as well as a suggestion for all of us to consider.

The answer to your questions are this. At this time, it probably is not possible for us to understand YHWH calendar and certainly we can not prove the exactness of His Appointed Times, (and here is the key), without His divine intervention.

Now before I bring up my suggestion for the leadership of CI to chew on, allow me to lay a little ground work.

First of all, just because we do not have the fullness of understanding concerning YHWH's calendar, does not mean that YHWH's Feast are not important to keep. If there is one thing that I have learned in my lifetime of keeping YHWH's Feast it would be that YHWH does not grant perfect (that is to say, fullness of) understanding on any subject right off. He brings us into a little light to see what we will do with that little bite of truth. If we act on that truth to His satisfaction, then he will shed more light on the subject, then a little more and so on, until one day, we come to see it so clearly, we wonder how we was so deceived before.

Just like Christian Identity. How come I never saw this before? I knew who Israel is? But, I just was not ready to see,,,,,right?

As a body, in the past few years, none of us were ready to see YHWH's calendar in its fullness.

Now, if i may introduce my suggestion with a question.

According to scripture, how was it that YHWH revealed truth to men of Israel? It is a subtle answer found in the story of David and Saul in 1Sam. 28:6.

There are three ways in which YHWH answered questions (inquiries) from that of Israel.

1) By Dream
2) By Prophet
3) By Urim

Now, I think we understand 1and 2 pretty well. I've not heard of anyone (and it would have to be two or three people at the same time) having a dream spelling out the calendar and I know of no prophets that YHWH has sent telling us how the calendar should be.

It is number 3 that I feel we might be able to glean information.

The Urim, points to the Urim and Thummim of the Levitical priesthood, something that we do not have today. A close study of this subject will show that this was nothing more than the casting of lots to retrieve judgments from YHWH Himself.

Is that not we are seeking today? A Judgment from YHWH on how to keep His calendar?

I consider myself an expert on YHWH's calendar, and yet, I do not know when a day begins or ends. Nor when exactly a month begins, or when the year begins, which are all starting points for us to count toward YHWH Appointments. Oh, I can tell you every way possible to calculate YHWH's calendar, but knowing for sure which way is correct.......None of us knows!!!!

Now, how can we know?

How about asking YHWH directly? Has anyone thought to do that? Consider these passages from Proverbs, with the understanding that there is division (also known as contention) with in the assemblies over the calendar.

Proverbs 18:18 "Casting lots causes contentions to cease and keeps the mighty apart."

and

Proverbs 16:33 "The lot is cast into the lap but its every answer is from YHWH."

From these two passages alone we can glean the following points

1) There are contentions between the mighty (leaders of the assemblies)
2) The casting of lots puts a stop to these contentions, bringing unity to the body.
3) There has to be division before the lot can be cast.
4) The lot cast into the lap, points to both parties being in the right attitude of humbleness (more on this latter)
5) YHWH promises to answer and YHWH can not lie, so what will come from this is the truth.

Now back quickly to the urim and thummim. Think about this. israel has Moses, Aaron and all the Elders of the tribes of Israel, not to mention Joshua waiting in the wings. Yet, YHWH thought it best to give them the process of the Urim and Thummin.

Why?

Because, even with great men of knowledge and valor, there are still cases when only YHWH wisdom and knowledge and understanding can answer a matter.

Today, we find ourselves in just such a matter. We are separated from the true meaning of the Hebrew language. Yes we have Strongs and great scholars that get us close, but at the end of the day we all have our western mindsets that keep us from coming to a fullness of truth on the Old Testament scriptures.

We need YHWH's judgment of this matter.

Also consider what Philo wrote on the Urim and Thummim. And remember Philo was a Levite, not a Jew.

"And first of all is speaks thus of anger (something we all tend to have when debating the calendar), in the hope of passivizing and curing it. Moses wrote, And you shall put manifestation and truth, the urim and thummim, in the oracle of judgment and it shall be on the breast of Aaron when he comes into the Holy Place before YHWH. now by the oracle is here meant the organs of speech which exist in us, which is in fact the power of language (which we today have lost sight of, we do not own the power of the Hebrew language). Now language is either inconsiderate and such as will not stand examination or else it is judicious and well approved and brings us to form a nation of discreet speech. For Moses here speaks not of a random spurious oracle, but of the oracle of the Judgment of YHWH, which is equivalent to saying, a well judged and careful examination of the oracle." Allegorical Interpretation III XL (118-119).

From this I gather that even with the greatest of men in Israel's History at Israel's judgment, there was still times that matters exceeded even their understanding, even with perfect knowledge of the Hebrew language and so that anger was kept low, YHWH gave Israel the judgment via the urim and thummim.

It is my opinion that YHWH wills for us to humble ourselves, putting our own doctrines and thoughts aside to inquire of Him with a right lowly attitude that says, I will believe what Proverbs says and know that YHWH will answer this question of lot and I will change my own theology accordingly.....no matter what.

Consider what YHWH has to say in Zeph. 1:3 and 6:

" I will consume man and beast", "......Those who have not sought YHWH, nor inquired of Him."

How can we say that we have sought after Him and His ways, if we have not inquired of Him the scriptural way?

Now, there are two ways to accomplish this.

1) Have the leading men of CI pray and fast for a period of time, then come together and have a meeting (like a council of Elders meeting, such as they did in Acts 15), agreeing on the form of lot they wish to use and agreeing before YHWH that all will adhere to the answers given.

or

2) 1Chronicles 26 tells the story of how the gatekeepers were chosen in ancient Israel from the tribes of Levi. Anyone who has studied the calendar knows the importance of the east gate of the temple in Ezk. 46:1-3. Thus the gatekeepers called the calendar. The gatekeepers were chosen by lot. If we have not lost total faith in YHWH working through a man, then our faith might better be served by coming together as prescribed above and choosing a man to call the calendar, having complete faith that YHWH will reveal to that man, whom YHWH would have ultimately chosen, the ins and outs of the calendar.

Also, please note that whenever lots are cast that a "no answer" should be included in the choices that YHWH has to choose from. Thus if He does not will for us to know at this time, that "no answer" will come up. Or if none of the answers are given correctly. This is scriptural from the very passage I quoted above, when YHWH did not answer Saul, not even by Urim. Thus it is scriptural to have a no answer in the lot.

Lilkanga did very well to relate the difficulties of "proving" the methods of reckoning the original Old Testament calendar of our Israelite heritage.

Yet many men have posited calendar theories, and have claimed inspiration for their methods.

This is precisely why I do not get involved in calender-related disputes, except for my rants belittling the "noon-to-noon" day madness and a few other wacky ideas.

16 Therefore no one must judge you in food and in drink, or in respect of feast or new month or of the Sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of future things. Whereas the body is of the Anointed...

We must first love our brother. Therefore if I was invited to celebrate tabernacles, for example, by Lilkanga or by anyone else, and he held it a day or two - or more - off from when I thought it should be held, I would not dispute at all. Fellowship with our brethren is more important than lording it over them with phariseeism!

Hello Bill,

To my knowledge, this is the first time you have responded to any of my post. Listening to you and Eli, was what lead me here, so I am please to hear your thoughts.

I am new to the movement, but not new to the doctrines, so CI teaching is like water to a very thirsty man.

I agree with your thoughts here about brothers having to first love one another. That truly is the foundation to truth being revealed.

Being of the now defunked and rightfully so, Worldwide Church of God and having walked through all the split offs of that organization, working closely with the leading men of most of them, all having a false spirit, based upon Judaism, I have found that even though I presented this subject (humbling ourselves and casting lots to get answers on the calendar, so we can have unity in that area), with tact and love and respect, they could never be granted a right spirit to accept such a faith tested venture, because, even though they are mostly all Israelite stock, they still lack the most important knowledge of two seedline.

So, having said all that Bill, I would like to have your thoughts on this. I have spoken with Eli concerning it and have sent him a short paper on the matter, to which he responded that he likes the possibility of it happening and is going to bring it up on his Pentecost program.

I agree with you as well that we should all fellowship if possible, keeping the Feast a few days off from one another, being flexible in that way. How flexible has YHWH been with us, in all our past calendar mis-timings. The churches have always been stanch and stiff necked with their festival dates, mostly holding to all the man made postponements of the jews.

YHWH will show us nothing until we humble ourselves and admit that we all might be wrong. I pray that you, being one of the leading men in the CI movement, will see the importance of casting lots on this matter, stopping all the division accordingly over the calendar, thus unifying our brethren even more in these last days.
