Also I think that this means that if a man fears God his wife will be good, that it is referring to a man already with a wife. A God-fearing man will have authority, a man who does not fear God does not, how can a man expect his wife to respect him when he himself does not respect God?
The more he fears God, the more his wife respects him.
There were two brothers in a field, one without a wife and one with a family. And they meet in the field ...each man has a different path. It is according to the will of God, not necessarily that one man is good while the other 'just doesn't deserve a wife'.
