Might there be trees near Mary's place that could be freely cut down and prepared for firewood? If so might it be possible for some of us to meet up there for a few days and do the job?

Could scrap wood be easier to get hold of? My grandparents feed their wood burner mostly with old beams and planks from building sites. Of course that would require chopping up into stove-sized pieces.

Probably not enough to last the whole winter. I still have two weeks of vacation time between Sept.1 and the end of the year. Is there anyone else here that would be able to go there and has experience doing this?

I cut down a few trees this last Spring and split them to cure out in the woods; I'll be bringing them up to my woodpile in the next month or so. If wood is not cured by the time you start burning, it creates creosote in your chimney. This is the time of year Mary usually got her wood, so the Summer heat could dry out green wood. Her logger benefactor was a great loss for her, as well as Lily, which is why she really needs a miracle. When it rains it pours.

Saw mills often have heaps of cheap timber/scrap lying around. Sometimes they have cheap species, some of which are still good timbers for burning ...in my area you can get whole logs like that. There are 'weed' species that are cheap.
I am not sure what America is like, but there are many saw mills near me.

Tree loppers also have access to timber, but it would be green. They usually just put-it through a wood-chipper, so you could just call them and ask. Personally I have spoken to them, they are usually happy to help.

You usually can't cut large trees down yourself in the wilderness, you need to know someone who has a farm or a large property. Check newspaper/internet classifieds because people who have cut down a tree on their property often give it away. It is not hard to prepare the timber with a chainsaw.

Edit: I just found-out how much 6 cords of wood is. That is much more than I thought, so my idea is probably useless. We don't have winters like that in Australia, I am surprised there are any trees left in the US.
...and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Hello Mark,

Just a quick note to let you know that I am doing well and appreciate your continued prayer support. If you post the Ministry Report that I just sent out, please post the following one as it contains a few corrected typo's in the original transmit. Thank you for your consideration. YHVH bless you and all.- Mary

Gertrude Ministries
Ministry Report: Late Summer 2014

Dear Brethren,

Summer is quickly slipping by and a hint
of fall is in the air. I admit that the element
of time, however, has escaped me since
my sister Lily's graduation to glory at the
on-set of the season. In light of her home-going,
I now consider myself to be on eternal time, a
conscious effort on my part to overcome her
absence that I, too, may experience the glory
of YHVH. Call it living in a new dimension or
more accurately, walking in a higher realm of
the Spirit, I am exercising faith in a capacity
that gives me greater strength, vision, and
ultimately hope.

Daily I am allowing YHVH to unfold my new life.
Toward the end of July I packed up a few belongings
and headed to our ministry cottage for a welcomed
time of rest and refreshment. The cottage is a
charming hide-away, nestled in quiet woods by
a friendly lake. It was built by Lily's father in the
1950's and through inheritance became part of
the ministry for the express purpose of being a
spiritual retreat. Allowing for its idyllic setting,
Father's 'summer home' is a special place where
one is afforded the luxury of being sequestered
away with the Most High. Historically, He has
manifested Himself in many ways that are
healing, restorative, and revelatory. For this
reason, I was ready to retreat to the cottage
for a new 'fill up.'

After a few weeks of lying in the hammock,
watching eagles and osprey dive for fish,
listening to the chorus of Loons, wading
in the water (a non-swimmer here), wrapping
myself in the warmth of the summer sun,
watching billowing clouds float by, beholding
spectacular sunsets, and taking walks under
cathedral-like pines, I am being revived. Daily
I am immersing myself in the word and additionally
being fed as I review some of Lily's and my writings
give over the course of years. In short, I am enjoying
being drawn higher and deeper into Father's loving
presence.

Ministry of the word
Whereas the cottage is a dedicated place of rest,
being happily 'disconnected' from the outside world
(no phone, TV, or internet), I did break protocol
this year by bringing up a 'new' (refurbished)
laptop computer, the purpose being to edit and
write ministry materials. Thus evenings often find
me talking to my laptop, preparing spiritual food for
YHVH's people. Some of these 'new releases'
I have uploaded to our website here:

LIVING ART: Ministry of Art
http://www.livart.org
Being at the cottage has also afforded me time
to return my art, a love that I gladly sacrificed for a
few years to care for my sister. As one might expect,
opening my watercolor box, looking over my sketching
pencils, checking my pastel inventory, and pulling out
pads of paper was a happy reunion with old friends.
Suffice to say, it did not take me long to resume my
creative instinct. While the cottage boasts a myriad
of subject matter for this painter, I chose to take small
steps toward bigger artistic goals by indulging in a few
black on white ink drawings of favorite sights. Two
of these drawings are now posted on my LIVING ART
website here: http://www.livart.org/sketches.htm

THE LIVING WAY: Ministry of Health
http://www.livway.org
In 1996 this ministry began advocating a plant-based
diet for the well being of the body temple. Allowing for
the remarkable ability of living foods to restore and
revitalize the body, we believe that a vegan lifestyle
as originally mandated by YHVH Almighty in
Genesis 1:29 is the diet of the Kingdom. Countless
testimonies evidence that a sick-less, disease-free
life is possible. Learn how to improve the quality of
your life the natural way by visiting our LIVING WAY
website. DVDs of our monthly health meetings are
available. Sign up for my free e-newsletter to receive
important health information.

For now, begin boosting your health index with this
quick, easy, and delicious living foods recipe!

2. New roof on the house- serious leak near
the entry door. Must be solved soon.
3. Workers to help shoulder the ministry work

Parting words...

As I now prepare to return to the cottage
to continue my sabbatical, kindly know
that I take all of you with me in my heart.
We are family. For better or for worse, we are
one and must learn to get along with one another
in the Spirit of Yahshua Messiah, our Kinsman
Redeemer, Who taught us how to live in the
fullest sense. Let us not take His words lightly
nor compromise His message. Though the days
grow increasingly perilous, He is our Shepherd,
our anchor, our hope, and most of all, our King.
With eyes fixed upon Him and hearts dedicated
to do His will, we cannot fail.

Until next time, thank you for your continued
prayers. YHVH bless and keep you.

In His Excellent Love and Service,
Mary

My wife and I helped Mary move seven and half cord of firewood into the house. Because of the coming storm I got started on it shortly after arriving Saturday afternoon and it took two more days to finish. Monday afternoon we went around to some thrift stores. Tuesday we did some yard clean up and probably would have headed back Tuesday night but I discovered a neat looking record store that was closed from Sunday to Tuesday. So we stopped there first thing Wednesday morning and then headed home.
