This clown is trying to set himself up as the next "Great White Hope". The problem is that he worked until 2008 as a Indian Tribal Administrator, and until then he was spouting multi-cult Marxist propaganda.

He never explained how he got from point A (marxism) to point B (white nationalism). In fact, he has promoted himself as a long-time friend or acquaintance of many old-time White Nationalist or Christian Identity activists. We do not think he has been telling the truth.

Couple's comments seek to divide us



I would like to weigh in on the comments of Mr. and Mrs. Day concerning Mrs. Jennie Perez's letter to the editor. While I will not put words into Mrs. Perez's mouth, I believe the intent of her letter was a message of embracing diversity. What a novel idea, given we are the nation with the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor that welcomes people from all lands.

The degree of intellectual dishonesty demonstrated by both letters from the Days was shocking, as they stated line after line in their letters about being an American without stating a single cohesive element of what really makes us Americans.

For the benefit of everyone, there is no such ethnicity as an American. There is no American bloodline, no American DNA test, and no American language. What makes us an American is our values, ideas and principles - which by the way can be expressed in Spanish, French, English, Chinese or any other native language that an American chooses to express himself or herself in - and above all our unique ability to come together as demonstrated nationally after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and here during the recent freeze.

Sadly, what is clear in the the letters from the Days is fear, fear of those who are different and the use of fear to divide people among ethnic lines in an "us versus them" argument that is more reminiscent of 1930s Germany than what America is really about. For this, I will pray for the Days that they will one day see diversity as a strength and love thy neighbor.

Rodney's own words clearly indicate that as little as 7 years ago he was pro-"diversity" and anti-National Socialism. But he claims to be a long-time advocate of white nationalism! No wonder he has embraced Eli James, they both use the same tactics!

I am posting this because at least a couple of current or former Christogenea readers/listeners have been suckered by this clown. Good leaders do not hide their pasts. Rather, they explain their pasts and how they got to their presents, so that others can learn from them and be won over as well. However phonies with agendas hide their pasts.

David Baillee, are you listening? Probably not. It would be understandably hard to hear when your ears are compressed by the walls of Rodney's large intestines.

The point in reproducing this is to show that Rodney Martin was actively working for Indian interests until 2008. How could he suddenly be a long time White Nationalist, as he began to claim in 2011?

Card room license sale challenged



A resident and member of the Porterville Parks and Leisure Commission is accusing a city councilman of bad business.

Greg Shelton appeared before the Porterville City Council Tuesday alleging Felipe Martinez has voted on agenda items when he had a financial conflict of interest. The conflict, Shelton claimed, concerns the councilman's role in brokering the sale of a card room license to the Tule River Tribe.

City and tribe officials and Martinez himself have denied Shelton's claims of wrongdoing.

"For the sale of this license the city councilman received compensation for his part negotiating this contract," Shelton said.

Earlier this week Shelton presented the City Council with copies of an unsigned sales contract between James L. Podergois, an owner of The Mint bar and card room and the Tule River Tribe.

The contract spells out the details of the sale of a card room license for the sum of $800,0000 payable to Podergois in two installments. The payments are dated for period ending Jan. 1, 2007.

On Friday Podergois said the transfer of the license has been completed. He did not wish to comment further.

The documents where copies of a fax dated Jan. 3, 2007 according to an attached New York Life Co. cover sheet from Martinez's office.

"As I did some research I learned that the city councilman continued to vote on items concerning the main parties involved in a deal he made money off of," Shelton said.

Martinez on Monday confirmed he acted as broker for the sale and received payment for his services at the beginning of this calendar year. He also responded to allegations of unethical voting practices.

"I've excused myself from voting on anything that could have been perceived as a conflict of interest," Martinez said. "I have done nothing wrong."

Martinez said he believes the contract is being used in an attempt to tarnish his reputation. He said he has spoken with the city attorney, who he said confirmed he had not violated any rules or regulation.

The contract papers themselves are at issue because the originals are part of file reported stolen from the tribal office.

Tribal police official Lt. Thomas Ludwig is conducting a federal investigation into the missing papers and any suspects who may have been involved in the theft. Details relating to the nature of any additional documents that were taken has not been released.

Included in the documents presented by Shelton was a copy of selected minutes from past Council actions involving the tribe and the Brickhouse. The Brickhouse is a new restaurant and bar owned by a group of investors which includes Podergois.

According to the records provided by Shelton, Martinez abstained from voting on at least two items concerning the Brickhouse, citing a conflict of interest.

Items involving the tribe that Martinez did vote on included:

a resolution of support for cross deputization of the tribe's police force,

a grant application for the tribe to receive continued funding for police and fire staff,

a city ordinance concerning card room regulations and

council direction to staff to communicate with the Tribal Council to acquire surplus lighting equipment.

City Manager John Longley said he is not aware of Martinez having any conflicts of interest on city matters in which he has cast a vote.

Shelton also claimed Martinez tried to mask his part in the sale of the license by being paid through a third party.

Tule Tribe Administrator Rodney Martin was at Tuesday's Council meeting for an unrelated matter. He addressed the Board in response to the claims, essentially calling them baseless.

"The facts have been investigated prior to the any statements made by person who spoke just prior," Martin told council members. "I would hope that you keep that in mind prior to any action and that you wouldn't rush to the lowest common denominator."

On Wednesday Martin said he is planning to make all the details of the card room sale available in an effort to put to rest any rumors of dishonest conduct. As early as Monday, he said he will present all information on the sale and plans for the license with the exception of one document he said must be redacted due to the federal investigation.

Voices from the Valley: Tule River Tribe, city setting the standard


On March 7, Vice Chairman Ryan Garfield of the Tule River Tribal Council and Councilman Eddie Hernandez for the City of Porterville signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to guide future negotiations for significant economic development in an area near the Porterville Airport. The proposal calls for the revitalization of the area and the creation of an economic development zone which will be called The Porterville Area Airport Development Authority, or (PAADA).

The city and the tribe has already been cooperating on a variety of issues through the Southeastern Tulare County Intergovernmental Coordinating Committee (STIG). Essentially, the STIG Committee will be formalized and become PAADA and move on to much larger things for the benefits of both communities. The STIG Committee is presently comprised of two appointees by the Tule River Tribe, and two appointees of the Porterville City Council and a fifth member appointed by the STIG Committee.

In this economic development zone, the city and the tribe will cooperate in a government-to-government relationship to create much-needed economic development and create needed job opportunities for the region. Resort and commercial development is envisioned as well as recreational development, such as a new golf course. In addition to the job creation the project will create, shopping and entertainment opportunities will be available right here in Porterville that people have been driving to Bakersfield, Visalia and Fresno for. Additionally, people from those areas will come here and spend money here in Porterville as well.

A component of creating the economic development zone, or PAADA, will be the exercise of joint powers within the zone between the city and tribal governments. Legislation was introduced by state Assemblyman Bill Maze, AB 1884, on Feb. 7 which would empower city and tribal governments to exercise joint powers within the PAADA.

The legislation received overwhelming support and on April 30, Garfield, Hernandez, Porterville City Manager John Longley, STIG Committee Chairman Duane Garfield and I provided testimony to the State Assembly Committee on Local Government. The bill was also supported by letters of support from such entities as the Porterville Chamber of Commerce, who has been great supporters of a better Porterville.

The Committee on Local Government passed the bill unanimously on to the floor of the full Assembly, no small feat for legislation of this nature.

The events that have occurred between local and tribal government right here in Tulare County have been and are setting the standard for government-to-government cooperation between tribal and local government entities to solve local issues together.

Together, tribal and city governments are working together for long-term sustainable economic development.

Together, tribal and city governments are working to provide job creation on a grand scale.

Together, tribal and city government are working to address public safety, planning and infrastructure issues.

While the federal government attempts a short-term approach at economic stimulus via the upcoming “rebate checks,” your city and tribal governments have been and are working on long-term economic stimulus that will carry on for generations.
