Trayvon Tribute

Postby Gideon300 » Tue Dec 17, 2013 2:19 pm

Hey everyone. Was wanting to share something that "someone" uploaded to TruTube. Seems they have replaced the audio of a video where, at a college football game this year, the crowd was asked to rise in tribute to Trayvon Martin as the marching band spelled out his name on the field.

Gotta admit the new music is far more appropriate than what the band actually played: "Amazing Grace" -

I believe that's the song, "Another One Bites the Dust" if I'm not mistaken. ;)

I don't care enough to confirm this, but it did have me thinking for a while.

I guess one could say that Trayvon was at the right place at the right time to become a national martyr for droopy pants, backward baseball capped night burglars. Maybe the next marching band could commemorate George, spelling out Zimmerman to the tune of 'Let the good times roll.'

LOL for real. You know you're giving them way too much credit though, thinking they could spell Zimmerman. This was Alabama State University, one of the official "Historically Black Colleges and Universities" as per the logo at the bottom right of the screen in the video.

If I wasn't hint-y enough in the first post, it was me who made that video and registered at TruTube just to post it. Didn't want my YouTube account scrubbed by posting it there. They're funny that way. Was a quick operation though using Windows Movie Maker, to replace the audio from the original video ("Amazing Grace?" - puh-leeze) with another marching band playing Another One Bites the Dust.

In the highly unlikely event I'd have been at that game when they asked people to rise for a tribute to Trayvon Martin, I'd have risen alright and said, "I don't think so," and headed for the nearest exit. If anyone was curious though about the event, the result was the Tar Babies defeated the Spooks in sudden death. That wasn't the outcome of the game, that's just what happened in the parking lot before it started.
