Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools

If you have one hour to spare, listen to these two fools. It's hilarious!

Yes, people: Christ, the root of Jesse, was nothing more than a code for an hallucinogenic mushroom (to control the masses, you see)! :D

From Wickedpedia (John Allegro):

The Sacred Mushroom and Christian Myth

The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross argued that Jesus in the Gospels was in fact a code for a type of hallucinogen, the Amanita muscaria, and that Christianity was the product of an ancient "sex-and-mushroom" cult. Critical reaction was swift and harsh: fourteen British scholars (including Allegro's mentor at Oxford, Godfrey Driver) denounced it and the publisher even apologized for publishing it. Sidnie White Crawford wrote of the publication of Sacred Mushroom, "Rightly or wrongly, Allegro would never be taken seriously as a scholar again."

In 1979 Allegro published The Dead Sea Scrolls and the Christian Myth in which he argued that because the authors of the Christian gospels did not understand Essene thought, they had confused the meaning of the scrolls and built the Christian tradition based on the misunderstanding of the scrolls. Allegro argued that story of Jesus was based on the crucifixion of the Teacher of Righteousness in the scrolls.

I have heard that one before, I will certainly give it a listen just to ensure that I know how to counter such people.

Here is another idiot, professing to be wise. Joseph Atwill, the title of the programme is "Caesar's Messiah, The Roman Conspiracy to Invent Jesus"; one of his central points is that when Jesus said "Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's", he was trying to sanction taxes for Caesar. Supposedly this 'proves' that Jesus was a Roman Emperor, Titus Flavius (Titus Flavius Caesar Vespasianus).

Also, apparently when Jesus said He would make His disciples 'fishers of men' he meant that they were going to be killing jews (bad-fig), the story goes that the Romans would destroy jewish (bad-fig) fishing vessels and then kill the survivors in the water.

Atwill outlines the series of events in Jesus' ministry that are parallels with the events of the battle campaign of Titus Flavius as recorded by Josephus Flavius in "War of the Jews". Numerous scholars had noticed the parallels between the Gospels and Josephus' work before, but Atwill is the first to notice that all the parallels take place in exact sequence and draw a revolutionary conclusion.
...and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Perhaps this explains why Redice has absolutely no interest in anything Christian Identity.
