A Kenyan 'woman' claims she suffered blinding headaches after being fitted with a human hair weave that came from a corpse and was filled with flesh-eating maggots that burrowed into her head.
'Legal assistant' Irene Myangoh bought the hairpiece from a salon in Nairobi and after wearing it for two weeks began suffering from severe headaches.
Ms Myangoh told The Daily Mail that she underwent blood tests and even a brain scan to try and work what was wrong but all the tests came back negative.
Frustrated, Ms Myangoh said she returned to her doctor who examined her scalp and reportedly found maggots eating into her skull.
The doctors believe the maggots had hatched from eggs contained in the hair that Ms Myangoh believes came from a dead body iReporters TV reports.
The manager of the salon, who asked not to be named, said she was "shocked" by the accusations.
"This is the first time such a thing is happening (sic) to my clients. I will get more information from my supplier because we import these weaves from the UK, USA and India," she said.
The manager said she had fitted ten weaves from the same package that Ms Myangoh's hair came from and that she had sold an extra 150 pieces from the entire collection in less than two months.
Ms Myangoh is now on antibiotics and has been forced to shave her head following the ordeal.
