URGENT ADVICE NEEDED FROM SOUTH AFRICANS RE BANK CARD

I've recently received am SMS to pick up my new bank (ATM) card.

They are now demanding proof of address, not more than 3 months old etc etc.

Just wondering if anyone has advice?

I'm going to have to do this via a heathen and my patience is already at an end.

My ID book is the legal document, and as far as I know, they don't have any legal right
to with-hold my ATM card.

I have always detested giving away my residential address, for OBVIOUS REASONS.

I am not even a property owner, and as soon as you walk in somewhere they start
with this WATER and LIGHTS WATER and LIGHTS CRAP.

They assume everyone is a homeowner and thus has the mandatory monthly crap
from the municipalities.

You know, I am really starting to feel ostracized here, really feeling that I'm covered in
curses and all blessings have been stripped away.

I have all kinds of crap everyday, and no support/validation from anyone here.

I can't get anything done, or finalized, or arrangements completed. I'm down to my last funds,
with no work in site.

I leave messages everywhere in this country, with hardly a response, and one by one
everyone drops me. You can't even do any business here (spend money) because the suppliers refuse to come back to you. Messages are not passed on or ignored.

I'm currently in the middle of a very unpleasant battle with a "christian" brother who refuses to act like a christian. His Pastor has run away from the situation, and accuses me of being the problem. His friends refuse to get involved. Everyone runs away.

I have been in a 9 month legal battle with this guy, because he refuses to respond to any allegations from my side.

Now my damn lawyer is running away because they are also bored with this situation after 9 months.

I'm just not getting anywhere right now, I feel like I'm locked out of my own country: I may as well be in prison.

I've really had it. There's no light at the end of the tunnel.

Trust me, this how we live here.
If you lose your bank card, or it gets stolen,
they refuse to issue you with a new one.

They insist that you have to go to a police station
an do an affidavit,
If you bring the affidavit to the bank,
and there's no stamp on, they refuse to issue you
the bank card.

Everyone accuses everyone else of being a criminal, and you have to
"prove" you are not a criminal in many cases before business can be done.

Friends from Australia come over to South Africa on holiday; they could NOT
purchase any mobile facilities, because they had NO PROOF OF ADDRESS!!!

Despite the fact that they wanted to do a CASH PURCHASE, there was no way
the transaction could be done!

They had to borrow a mobile phone from one of their friends in the end!

These bastards stuff you around from pillar to post, the countrie's admin
is in a shambles!

The electricity supply company, ESCOM, is like the mafia; they issue incorrect statements
to the users, when the users complain, they threaten to cut off the electricity
supply, after which the only way to get electricity again is to PAY THE FULL AMOUNT
(FRAUDULENT) INCLUDING RECONNECTION FEES.

Their attitude is that the full amount must be paid before any negotiations/investigation can be done!

This crap from ESCOM has been going on for 15 years; friends of mine have been billed ridiculous amounts,
like ONE MILLION RAND for a months electricity!
Even then, then, they insist that the amount must be paid first!

Who the heck has $100 000 for their monthly electricity bill?

Furthermore, ESCOM has got rid of most of their white technicians, hence the endless electricity
failures in certain areas! ESCOM "executives" get bonuses of multiple millions despite the complete cock-up
of the electricity supply - - - The average middle management in ESCOM is said to be about TWICE THE NATIONAL AVERAGE: believe it or not!

In this country, the white male is regarded as a piece of scum, it's made worse by the fact that my
supposed peers can only offer JUST DO WHAT THEY SAY JUST DO WHAT THEY SAY whimper whimper

Viking it sounds like you are living in the Transvaal. In my experience services were absolutely terrible there; it's a complete nightmare. Since moving back to the Cape I've realized the massive difference in services and they're a lot better here.

Only problems is that there are way more mongrels, liberals and faggots down here.

I tried to buy a cheap cellphone a few months ago when mine was in for repairs and I gawked and then laughed at the fat mongrel behind the counter who demanded proof of address. "I'm buying a R99 phone and you want proof of address?!"

ESKOM also seems to be a little better down here and I must say that prepaid electricity is much better than the monthly system. Family of mine have experienced the ridiculous bills that they issue (this was in Pretoria).

I've been playing with this idea for a while; perhaps move to Cape Town in the interim because it seems to be a tad more white, and the admin/municipal systems seem to make a bit more sense.

Was in CT a few months ago; went into a chemist to get something - they did not have, so I simply left,
but to my amazement, before I could disappear, the woman said "but if you just go here and here there is another chemist, they will probably be able to help you!"

I was floored, didn't even ask and the woman gave me that old-fashioned help you used to get about 15-20 years ago. Yes it WAS a white woman.

Of course, even CT not the same as 10-15 years ago, but there seems to be SOME white service.
Here, it's as close to 0% as you can get.

Getting down here will be good for your sanity I think, but like I mentioned, be prepared for more liberalism, sodomy and race mixing. I found that White people in the Transvaal are more conservative. Also it is more difficult to find work here. I was fortunate enough to get recruited down here while doing some consulting.

Again though, more helpful people and better services.
