The War of 1812: Washington D.C. Tornado

Postby Gideon300 » Sun Mar 24, 2013 12:33 pm

When I first heard about this years back I was amazed not only at the series of events, but also about why it's not more well known. British troops were ordered to destroy the capital of the young American nation, the US Army had withdrawn and it seemed there would be no stopping the total destruction of not just the government buildings, but the entire city and worse, that the British would then certainly occupy the area and fortify their position with reserves before long. All hope would seem to be lost and there was nothing standing in the way of the unopposed British occupation force, when things took an incredible and unexpected turn -

Instead of completing the destruction of the city and then occupying it afterward, the remaining storm battered British troops were ordered back to their ships the next day. The one and only time foreign troops landed on US soil with the aim of taking over of course eventually ended in American victory and established the United States as a world power that would prosper for decades to come as a homeland for the White Europeans and their posterity, as its founders had intended.

"No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD."

I didn't know about this storm. Thanks for this post! Yahweh was clearly with America as a nation then.
Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Matthew 7 16-19 KJV
