http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/hamilton/norfolk-county-fair-vendors-told-to-stop-selling-confederate-flags-1.3798819Two vendors at the Norfolk County Fair were told to stop selling merchandise featuring the Confederate flag after complaints from a visitor to the Thanksgiving weekend fair.
Justin Erdman said he was at the annual fall fair on Saturday night from 7:30 p.m. until closing time, and something he saw there surprised him.
"Several vendors had Confederate battle flags in their wares — one in Building 5 featured them prominently at the cash register. Others had them emblazoned on hats and shirts with the word 'Rebel' over top," Erdman said.
"All the fair has to do is issue an order to vendors. Simple. But I haven't heard any response from the fair," he said, referencing tweets he'd directed at the fair's twitter account on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

in unrelated news, in another Southern Ontario townhttp://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/hamilton/police-investigating-another-teen-mugged-in-ancaster-1.3801239Police investigating another teen mugged in AncasterCBC News Posted: Oct 12, 2016
Hamilton police say they're investigating another mugging in Ancaster and whether it is possibly linked to a birthday basketball game that was interrupted by assault and robbery over the weekend.
The incident happened last Thursday around 4 p.m., a couple of days before the basketball game mugging. In this incident, a 14-year-old boy was sitting in a field south of Golf Links Road, near Joshua Avenue in Ancaster when two older teen boys came up to him on foot, police said.
They asked if they could buy drugs, and then demanded the 14-year-old turn over his smart phone and BMX-style bike. They got away with the phone and headed east toward restaurants and businesses. The 14-year-old wasn't injured.
The 14-year-old told police he observed something in one of the boys' waistband, which he thought could be the handle of a handgun or a pellet gun.
Both suspects are described as black and around 17 years old, police said.
In the basketball incident, a group of 10 youths playing at the nearby Meadowlands Park, were mugged by three older teens who came up on bikes and demanded the boys turn over smart phones. One fought back and was assaulted, Hamilton police said.
"It is not known if these incidents are linked but given the proximity and time of the offence, police are considering the possibility that [the] same suspects (were) involved," said Hamilton police Const. Stephen Welton.
Police ask anyone with information to call police or Crime Stoppers.
