He sprinkled a little bit of sentimental values into his vision of the ideal, but the bottom line to this way of thinking is that "Every man did that which was right in his own eyes" (Judges 21:25), which was a shameful period of Israelite history.
I read it the same way. Every expression of anarchy I've ever seen has been that of undisciplined heathen, whose chief concern is becoming less obstructed in their pursuit of worldly lusts.

Agree again, and this is where I draw the line for fellowship with myself and my family. I have common ground with many people, and may even like them, but if submitting themselves to God isn't central to their character, then I just can't afford to waste time with them.

For my entire life I was drawn to God and Christianity, but could never overcome some fundamental disdain every time I tried to interact with a church. They were all hypocritical, insincere, and endeavoring towards things unpalatable to me. The best I could do was Pierce's ADV broadcasts and secular-racist friends.
The first time I heard the DSL message it was Faber airing AN's "Tares Among the Wheat," and it instantly resolved all the conflict and turmoil I'd had with Christianity. All things that I knew to be true were suddenly reconciled and I could finally embrace faith. Shortly after that I came to have a great respect for Pastor Ray Redfeairn. We were going to ask Ray to officiate our wedding, but he passed before that could happen.
I feel that I owe AN something, and it pains me to hear that the namesake is so toxic.
