I heard about it. I was wondering who owned the mines? What do you think this portends for the future of SA? Looks like a police state (integrated at that) turning on the black unionists. Whatever happened to ANC worker's paradise?

The mine is owned by a London based company called Lonmin. The problem is that the normal union was cast aside for a militant one. The normal union wasn't able to get the negroes what they wanted and they became violent, murdering police and other workers. They then organized a military gathering with spears, machetes and even some guns. The police's goal was to show a strong presence, but then the negroes charged the police and got mowed down.

It only confirms that the government is a typical communist one which doesn't actually care about the people so long as they're giving their votes. I suppose the dark masses are becoming disillusioned with the government and so long as they keep whispering in each other's ears that whitey is withholding wealth we could see more race violence.

After South Africa was transferred to black rule, the mines were given to the relatives of ANC leaders. Under Apartheid, these were some of the most profitable mines in the world. Under ANC crony rule, they are in total disrepair and workers are owed months of back pay. At some mines, elevators and heavy equipment have been stripped to sell for scrap metal.

I caught Marikana article in Bill's "Anglo Saxon Messenger" which is written by some gentleman who's name escapes me now. Anyway, I'm even shocked at the contents of the article and I can totally confirm that this is definitely not what the media here has been portraying! The media has almost seemed to be double-minded about it, showing all evidence that the police where defending themselves but at the same time acting shocked about it under some kind of human rights infringement pretext. It makes complete sense that the monkey's masters having been cracking down on them. Read the article, you'll know what I mean.

It's funny though, because the ANC president, Jacob Zuma (destroying our ancestor's names), expressed how heartbroken he was at the deaths at the mine. In other news, Zuma spent R250m (around US$40m) of tax-payer money to renovate his private property (literally).
