The first I heard it was from Bill, and I'll see if I can recall where that was.
Coming to CI from (mainly) KJV-using churches, I'd just never heard of this discrepancy before.

I spent what, 14 years in jew-lovin' churches and I don't think I ever heard the Septuagint referred to. I know it's mentioned in my Halley's bible handbook but I don't recall being motivated to research it deeper from what was in there. I'll have to check that out again.

That's great, Bill.
Thanks.

Staro -- same for me.
It was only about six years ago I first heard of the LXX, and that was not from any "pastor", but my own online private enquiries into the Bible. I seem to remember that one of the first things I read about the LXX was that it didn't exist, was a fake etc ....
There is surely some organised deception out there ...

PS. This is to not even mention the nutcases; I was just now re-listening to some Pragmatic Genesis, including Bill's account of the sad eejit saying that Noah was a spaceman bringing vials with the seeds of all creatures to Earth in his spaceship .... This could be funny, but it's not really ....
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
