I wanted to check personnally that information. In my little laboratory, I tested the DNA of one of my local politician, and what I found is this (33-word snippet in trash-DNA originally in ebonics; translated in english here):

The Daily Currant is much like The Onion.

A friend sent me this same link just yesterday, imagining it to have been serious. Here is my reply:

I went investigating and could not find anything pertinent concerning this scientist or his project. There are scientists named "Charles Watson", but none working in precisely this endeavor, so they did choose that name carefully.

So I looked into the Daily Currant. And I found that it is as entertainment-type website, like The Onion, that publishes only satirical pieces.

Indeed, however it still goes viral and people still believe it everywhere. It's like people desperately want to confirm their faith.
