Saying that you sound like something is not an insult but an observation. You overact about everything bruce. I've been following almost all "hot" discussions for a long time where you intervene and is always the same.

I already gave my opinion on the "internet vs tv" topic, so that's all from me on this.

Did I miss that brucebohn is a mod in here? you can't dictate people what to post and what not to post.

This is not an observation, it is an accusation.... I have not dictated to anyone.

@Gallowglass
I would not hold it against any brother if they are somewhat 'hot' or emotional. Of-course it would make me a hypocrite, but also because, to me, it is a sign of deep concern, deep sensitivity ...a developed awareness and a mark of the sentience and intelligence of our people.

Indifference and a cold or uncaring attitude can be a sign of fear, of denial ...a refusal to see what really is, so that one can remain 'in-the-world'. Unthinking and unintelligent men often do not understand why their brothers are so grieved, seeing the awakened (to His Truth) as mad or crazy. For example, I have been called mad because I got angry at some selfish idiots who disrespected our war-dead, our Anzacs, they couldn't care less about anything but themselves.

Some brothers here have a different nature, I appreciate them all the same. They manifest their inner nature in a different way. Both kinds of men are good. I think Bill is more patient and makes a strong impression in a different way, for example. Mike Delaney is known to be somewhat 'hot' and has had to apologize for this, I don't think he should.

"Luke warm" I am not! If you are not "angry", you are not paying attention!
I do not wish to offend my Christian brethren, however I have little patience
for what I term, CI "Lite".. If you want to be "Armchair weekend warriors"
then it would be best to think hard before making ignorant philosophical
comments.. We are fighting for our very existence, and were it not for the
grace and the "Blood of Christ", we would for certain be doomed!
I have a beautiful 19 year old daughter, whom , next to my divine father,
is the most important thing in my life.. I fight for my faith, and for her,
in that order. She has no future unless I rigourously defend that faith...
So, if you want to be a weak knee, penny loafer wearing , panty waist "Christian",
then head over to the November/ Tucker/ Johns crowd, they will be glad
to have you! And if you cannot stand the heat, do not fire up the oven..
I am not pretentious, I have much to learn, we are all a work in progress,
however I hold fast to the truth which I do have and will "Die on my feet
before I live on my knees", of that you can rest assured..............
True Christianity must be lived "24/7 ! It is a lifestyle, not a "hobby"!
All do respect...

Bruce, surely given that service to God and our race should not be flaunted, for in that way the recognition we get from men will take away from recognition from God. Also given the anonymity or at the very least impersonal nature of internet forums, one cannot fairly judge one's kindred on any kind of scale of conviction?

Also shouldn't we be patient with differing opinion, especially on issues that are more grey -- as opposed to mongrelization, which we all know is as clear as day to be wrong. I know I'm guilty of it. It is one thing to be an outside party and lecture on patience, and quite another to apply it when in the thick of things.

I'm still confused as to why I was ridiculed for my posts and would love to have some kind of explanation in the very least.

Nayto wrote:I can see Nico's point; the internet has been massively destructive to our race. While we may choose to do one thing or another the reality and fact is that most unwitting people make the wrong choices. I think it is more destructive than some of you might think.

To say that it is simply a tool while denying the reality of how it is used seems slightly dissonant. It almost seems like one trying to justify the use of the internet?

Ultimately I just want to separate the two points of dissonance:

1. The internet as it is now is more bad than good.
2. We can use the internet to reach our kindred.

We can hold these views simultaneously and with that in mind there is actually no debate, in my opinion.

I ridiculed nobody personally, but only certain ideas, and you still miss the point, seeming to not even have acknowledged it.

The point you miss is the vanity of any attack on inanimate things, because certain people always abuse those things. THAT is the true dissonance here, and the problem which several of us have with Nico's original quarrel. It attacks the form, and not the substance. Attacks on the form are always vain, because the substance merely adapts a new form.

You have both, therefore, surrendered yourselves to the same tactic which the enemy has long used to disarm us.

Look again at your own argument, where you stated that "To say that it is simply a tool while denying the reality of how it is used seems slightly dissonant. It almost seems like one trying to justify the use of the internet?"

Now look at this, where I take your argument and substitute the noun gun for internet:

"To say that it is simply a tool while denying the reality of how it is used seems slightly dissonant. It almost seems like one trying to justify the use of the gun?"

Do you get it now? If someone said that to you while arguing that guns be eliminated, would it not identify them as a commie tool? In America it would. Internets don't make porn, people do.

By the way, in all of my arguments here, I have only used pornography as one of the most visible abuses of the internet. I can substitute any other abuse for it at any time. All abuses of the internet are also manifest in every other aspect of society.

Why should there be insults in the first place?

wmfinck wrote:Look again at your own argument, where you stated that "To say that it is simply a tool while denying the reality of how it is used seems slightly dissonant. It almost seems like one trying to justify the use of the internet?"

You missed my point then, or took my quote out of context. The above is sufficiently clarified later in the post, however I will clarify further:

In a dissonant state of mind justification, or reduction of said dissonance is sought after due to two conflicting viewpoints. My point is that no justification is necessary because the views are not conflicting in the first place.

In other words, it seems like some are trying to justify use of the internet personally by downplaying its dangers. The reality is that the danger of the internet is not personal as we CI are made of sterner stuff. However it affects our race as a whole and this should not be downplayed, nor is it necessary.

To apply this to a gun situation: I would use a gun personally. Is it dangerous for me personally? Not really, no; I know firearm safety protocols. Would you give it to young children? No, they are not equipped mentally to handle a firearm. It is dangerous. Am I going to downplay the danger of firearms to children in order that I might feel better about using one myself? There is no need.

I would not advocate banning of the internet, but simply advocate protocols to reduce the risk of harm. For example, use javascript blockers, educate parents on the dangers, etc. Only through detailed knowledge of the dangers are we able to stop them. I am worried that through said dissonance the danger is downplayed on a racial as opposed to personal level and thus not mitigated nor at the very least visualized.
