The Mark of the Beast, Revelation 13:15-18

I had a question about the mention of a 'mark of the beast' in the book of Revelation, is it meant to be a literal mark upon one's hand and forehead, or is it figurative?

Christreich is available free to read. Hard copy is also available.
And no, not literal.

So as not to leave this thread on an empty note, for anyone else who is interested the explanation for the mark of the beast can be found on pgs 154-155 in ChristReich....
